Flooring services across Surrey
Floor & Form provides carpets, wood, LVT and natural flooring across Surrey, from Georgian Guildford townhouses to Arts and Crafts homes in the Surrey Hills. We visit clients at home for measuring, design advice and installation, working around the period features and subfloor quirks typical of the county's varied housing stock.
Property context
Homes we work in across Surrey
- Surrey spans everything from Georgian townhouses in Guildford and Reigate to Arts and Crafts villas and tile-hung cottages tucked into the Surrey Hills.
- Commuter towns such as Cobham, Esher and Weybridge mix 1930s suburban semis with newer executive builds, each with different subfloor and moisture profiles.
- Many rural and greensand-ridge properties have solid brick or stone construction with limited damp-proofing, which affects flooring choice and preparation.
- Conservation areas and listed buildings around Dorking and Farnham often call for sympathetic materials and finishes rather than off-the-shelf solutions.
- Newer developments around Leatherhead and Oxshott tend to have engineered timber subfloors better suited to floating installations.
Working with Surrey's varied housing stock
Surrey's property mix is unusually broad for a single county, so we tailor our approach room by room rather than applying a single template. A tile-hung cottage near Cranleigh will need different preparation to a 1930s semi in Leatherhead, and we plan for that from the first visit.
Solid floors in older Surrey homes often need levelling compounds or careful moisture testing before any new flooring goes down, particularly where original quarry tiles or flagstones have been lifted.
